I studied Textile Design at the University of Huddersfield, specialising in print but learning the technical aspects of print, knit and weave. I then completed a placement year at a weaving mill followed by 2 years as a print designer and 4 years working in the innovation centre at a woollen mill project managing the development of new fabrics.
My forte lies in woollen fabrics as I have both designed and re-engineered many woollens including blankets, Cavalry twills, mattress ticking, billiard table felt and panel fabrics. I enjoy designing attractive and tactile fabrics, taking inspiration from current trends when considering aspects such as the weave, colours, weight and handle.
